A Brief Academic and Work Summary:

My initial pursuits began in the midst of raising two children. I turned my interest in food into a hobby in the culinary arts and attended culinary school for one year from 1996-1997. After completion (honors) I transferred my units to Yuba College and studied food service management, finishing with an Associate of Science in 1998.

Soon after receiving my AS I was certified as Chef de Cuisine with The American Culinary Federation and was an active member of  The California Capitol Chef's Association.

During my tenure with CCCA I served one term each as Vice President and President of the junior (pre-certification) members. I also served as Secretary to the active (certified) members.

Between 1998 and 2002 I worked in food service venues and health care, sometimes combining the two while independently studying natural health and nutritional healing under the canopy of Traditional Naturopathy.

Continuing with nutritional healing and other natural health academics, I received my doctorate in Naturopathy under the designation ND in 2002, although; I worked under California law freely and without licensure, as a Naturopathic Practitioner.

Assisting in medical practices and working independently between 2002 and 2007
influenced me on a "spiritual journey" as I learned an even deeper level of connectivity and human care.

In the spring of 2009, I continued to work independently, enrolled in and completed a CNA program through NCP college of nursing in the San Francisco Bay Area. My prior skills came into focus during this experience.

Between 2009 and 2011 I returned to Yuba College and immersed myself in
pre-med nursing and human behavioral courses, while maintaining balance in my career in human care and wellness maintenance.

The diversity of my academics and work experience has helped me gain a stronger understanding of individuals and community, which enhances human interaction and adds depth to my work.

I have also learned more about the medical community's perception of and approach
to treating diseases and disorders and I have conferred often with medical professionals regarding the importance of nutritional healing and natural health options.

My passion for the culinary arts and food service began in my childhood. At 7 years of age I began learning to cook and at 13 I was learning about food preservation. My passion for the craft keeps me committed to offer my skills to those who are facing dietary changes and to assist with enhancing medical dietary services. I also enjoy opportunities to venture out occasionally into restaurant or other food service operations and even homeless shelters, to share my skills and indulge in the energy of the kitchen.
